What is CBDV?
CBDV, like CBD, is a unique cannabinoid that contributes to the entourage effect, the belief that all cannabinoids and terpenes work together to create the effects you feel when consuming cannabis. Like CBD, CBDV is also being studied for its potential effects on the endocannabinoid system.

Where is CBDV Found?
CBDV is found in cannabis plants. However, the cannabis plants that contain CBDV tend to be of the Cannabis indicalandrace variety. These are some of the original marijuana strains from the Afghanistan and Pakistan regions.
There aren’t many differences between CBD and CBDV, likely because CBDV is simply a derivative of CBD. It’s also possible that the reason we don’t know much about their differences is because CBDV hasn’t really been studied a great deal.
Scientifically, one of the clear differences between the two lies in the molecular structure. While it is incredibly similar, CBDV has a propyl chain and CBD has a pentyl chain.
The final difference may just be in public awareness. While most people have heard of CBD, they haven’t heard of CBDV. As cannabinoids continue to increase in popularity, we expect this to change. And, with any luck, that will lead to more research being done on this unique cannabinoid.
