Medical Marijuana Info for Doctors: Be Informed

As knowledge about the potential benefits of medical cannabis continues to evolve, more and more patients are beginning to inquire about the positive effects it can have on their lives. As a medical professional, you play an important role in helping your patients experience a better quality of life—and our team is ready to assist.

We help you make the difference.

Our team is available to give educational presentations to your practice to ensure your team is comfortable recommending medical marijuana. We are committed to ongoing communication with our patients and their physicians, so you can remain informed at all times about the product and care your patient receives.

The Healthcare Provider-Patient Relationship

Healthcare Providers are not “prescribing” medical marijuana.

Instead, a healthcare provider is asked to certify that the patient has one of the debilitating medical conditions or symptoms of a qualifying condition and that a bonafide relationship has been established.

A healthcare provider should be able to comfortably certify that the qualifying patient is under the healthcare provider’s care, either as the patient’s primary care physician or for his or her debilitating medical condition. Make sure to check your state's regulations, because qualifying conditions can vary by state.

Healthcare providers may accept payment from a qualifying patient for the fee associated with the examination required before recommending medical marijuana.

Grow Your Understanding of Marijuana

As a medical professional, your mission is clear—to help your patients heal and feel better. That’s why it’s important for you to be familiar with the real benefits medical cannabis can have—and to be fully informed and comfortable recommending its use.

Verilife is devoted to disseminating the science behind medical cannabis. We’re here to guide patients and medical professionals along the way, to help them understand which products can be viable options, how to dose, and the potential effects and outcomes.
